IT-C Supports World Horse Welfares 'ReHome a Horse Month'

30 July 2011

World Horse Welfare Champions Gala DayIT-C is was very pleased to be invited, and be able to support, one of our customers, World Horse Welfare, on their Gala Open Day on the 30th June 2011.

The importance of rehoming horses received a Royal stamp of approval by HRH The Princess Royal  launching ‘Rehome a Horse Month’ at the event at World Horse Welfare’s Hall Farm Rescue and Rehoming Centre in Snetterton, Norfolk.

The Royal visit  highlighted how the rehoming process creates more space in the charity’s farms therefore more abused and neglected horses can be helped. Hall Farm Centre Manager Sue Hodgkins said “Rehoming a horse provides a wonderful opportunity for that horse, which may have had a tough start in life, to find a loving home. It also allows us to bring in more horses and ponies which are in desperate need of care.”

World Horse Welfare declared the month of July ‘Rehome a Horse Month’ to draw attention to the benefits of rehoming over buying a horse, and to encourage anyone who can to rehome a horse. Many of the charity’s horses – even those from the infamous Amersham case - can be useful and successful as ridden horses, as well as companions.

During her visit to World Horse Welfare’s Hall Farm in Snetterton, Norfolk, HRH Princess Royal, who is President of the charity, viewed a display of the talents of many top quality rehomed horses and ponies, such as driving competition pony Yogi and 12 year-old Marston who showcased the discipline of horse agility. She also metsome of the horses ready to be rehomed and others still being rehabilitated. HRH also spoke to the staff who ensure smooth running of the rehoming process, and met with some of the people who have rehomed horses, as well as members of the World Horse Welfare team.

World Horse Welfare was one of IT-C Support Solutions first customers and we were only too pleased to be able to support them in their aim of raising the profile of their rehome a horse month.
